CBISA Online™ and IRS 990H

The IRS is imposing new reporting requirements for hospitals in their annual Form 990 tax return filing starting in tax year 2009. The new information concerns the nature and scope of hospitals' community benefit efforts. All of this information will be reported in the new Schedule H "Hospitals". Lyon Software has been following the IRS draft issues of the new Schedule H, and we have been changing CBISA Online™ to accommodate these new 990H requirements. Read more.

Good News for CBISA™ Users!!

This announcement is to let you know of Lyon Software's new plan to upgrade, free of charge, every user to CBISA Online™.

Due to the overwhelming positive response and satisfaction with CBISA Online™ (over 300 hospitals and health systems are already using it in its first seven months), Lyon Software has decided to upgrade - at no cost - every CBISA™ user to the new Online version. We would like to accomplish this upgrade for everyone by December 31, 2007 or shortly thereafter. Just as with prior upgrades, all of your CBISA6 data will be seamlessly migrated into CBISA Online™ - no data will be lost.

What about costs? Is there an upgrade charge? No. What do we need to budget for future subscription fees? Your immediate costs will not change. We plan to give everyone a minimum of one full calendar year at the current rate of $400. Then, your annual subscription charge will gradually increase ($600, $800, then $1,000) until it reaches the new user CBISA Online™ annual subscription fee. As part of the upgrade process, Lyon Software will provide you a written schedule of your annual costs over the next several years for your budgeting purposes.

Some important benefits of this upgrade:

  1. No more inlines
  2. No more local IT involvement and costs
  3. No special or additional hardware or software - simply need a browser with internet access
  4. Easier to "farm out" data entry tasks and assign users only the permissions and rights necessary to perform the roles you identify for them
  5. More comprehensive reporting
  6. Superior delivery system for CBISA™

This is GOOD NEWS for the entire CBISA™ community. Every user will be enjoying the benefits of a better version of the software and the newest technology. Please contact Pat Geissler or Heidi Kuester as soon as possible to initiate your upgrade or to get additional information about it (419-882-7184 or support@lyonsoftware.com).

As always, we look forward to serving you well in your ongoing community benefit tracking and reporting process.
