Introduction to CBISA for K-12 Education™

CBISA™ is a comprehensive software program designed to meet all of your district's community service reporting needs. Financial and statistical information is collected along with narratives, stories and other non-quantifiable information. The software provides the ability not only to track statistics and enter stories, but to record the effectiveness of your programs using baseline goals and strategies, specific indicators, measurable and anecdotal results. CBISA™ provides comprehensive reporting. It gives you the ability to extract data for reports for single or multiple reporting units within your system. All of your reports can be exported directly from the software to different applications, such as Excel spreadsheets or Word documents.

CBISA™ allows you to maintain all of your service-learning and community engagement data in one place. The need for multiple database programs, spreadsheets and file cabinets to hold voluminous amounts of paper disappears. This state-of-the-art software also promotes consistency throughout your entire reporting process by providing the ability to define an unlimited number of custom values. Reporting can be aggregated at the district level, defined group level (e.g. secondary or elementary), and at the school level.

CBISA™ also utilizes role based access to the program. Administrators can choose from eight different access levels when assigning new users. By allowing different users with specific access rights to the program, users only have access to the parts of the program that they need.

CBISA™ is both user friendly, and “computer friendly”. The software program is a web-hosted ASP.NET application, meaning that Lyon Software handles all the IT considerations. Your users only need a JavaScript enabled browser and the ability to log on to the internet. The workstation will need a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and the ability to add a "trusted site" in the internet options in order to correctly view dialog boxes. All of the data is transmitted over secured lines from your facility to our server, backed up and retained in a secure encrypted environment. Also, all of the upgrades to the program are performed by Lyon Software negating any need for your institutions IT involvement.
